Empowerment with a sense of health, defined as “the capacity of people to adapt to, respond to, or control life’s challenges and changes” (Institute of Health Promotion Research, UBC). Through our programs, members can:

  • Decrease or preclude entry into formal health services.
  • Reduce social isolation and depression.
  • Prevent falls and delay dementia.
  • Access a wide range of needs at one-stop sites.
  • Encourage independence and affirm dignity.
  • Develop individual strengths and reaffirm that aging is a normal developmental process.
