We are excited to announce the following winners of the MASC 2014 Award of Commitment. Each winner received a framed print presented by the president of the MASC board Lee Hansen at our AGM on Friday, May 30th. Congratulations to our winners and to all our nominees.

MASC-Award-of-Commitment-003Jean Bateman (Pat Porter Active Living Centre in Steinbach) who has been active at Pat Porter for over 15 years. She is recognized today for all the qualities she has in relating to seniors and to her leadership and services on behalf of their causes for many years.

 

Ingrid Jarowec (Good Neighbours Active Living Centre in Winnipeg) for her extreme dedication as a volunteer in many areas of the Centre for over 10 years. She enjoys meeting others, helping others, and learning new skills. She has been/is involved with the Adhoc Policy Committee, New member event, outreach events, Nominations/Board Development. She was/is also involved with their used bookstore, teaches bridge to beginners, and is involved in intergenerational activities.

MASC-Award-of-Commitment-005Ray Massey (South Interlake Fifty-Five Plus in Stonewall) for going above and beyond for his Centre and the seniors in the Stonewall area. He has been involved in their board for over 14 years. He has led the organization through lengthy legal challenges to a mutually agreeable outcome. He is constant and unassuming – a wise and determined leader.

MASC-Award-of-Commitment-006The Comitato Degli Italiani di Terza Eta (within the Centro Caboto Centre in Winnipeg) have been working with older adults for 15 years. They have organized themselves and are recognized today for their hard work and accomplishments in caring for the well being of the seniors at their Centre.
